What Is the Tu Quoque Fallacy?
Tu quoque ("you too") deflects criticism by pointing out that the critic is guilty of the same thing. While the inconsistency may be real, it doesn't address whether the original criticism is valid.
Also known as Appeal to Hypocrisy, this is a informal fallacy — the error lies in the content or context of the argument rather than its formal structure.
